Five Ways to Take it Easy

Don’t just sit there. Move!

When you aren’t doing something, it’s easy to start worrying about things.

Exercise can help keep your mind free of worry.

Take time to do the things you like to do.

When you do things you like, you feel good and relaxed. It might be going to the movies, taking a walk, or meeting with friends.

It doesn’t matter what you like to do… just make sure you do it.

Laugh a little.

Rent a funny movie. Laughing helps loosen your muscles and gets more blood going to your heart and brain.

Use heavy breathing.

You can trick your body into relaxing by using heavy breathing. Breathe in slowly while counting to 7 then breathe out while counting to 11. Repeat this a few times.

Soon, your heart rate will slow down and you will start to feel good.

Pray or meditate.

Sometimes people forget that praying or meditating (just sitting still and being quiet) can help you relax and feel better.
